On the first weekend in August, The Peoples Park in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin will be filled with sublime sounds as classical music wafts through the late summer evening warmth with The Classical Twist Shows presented by DLR Events and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.  

The shows will take place on Friday August 5th and Saturday August 6th at 8.00 pm and Sunday August 7th at 2.00 pm.  Tickets are not required for these shows and the park will be open to all who wish to attend.

The Slovak Festival Ensemble will perform well-known and loved classical pieces from Bach to The Beatles and The Stones to Strauss!  Organisers invite guests to bring deck chairs, picnic blankets and refreshments if they wish.

Led by Vladimir Jablokov, the evening shows will include pieces from Mozart, Brahms, Strauss, Dvorak and many more. 

On Sunday August 7th the show will be a sing along especially for families and children with songs from smash hit shows such as High School Musical, Fame, Annie, the Jungle Book, The Lion King and Many more.

Vladimir Jablokov is a young violin virtuoso from Bratislava, Slovakia. He started playing the violin aged five, making his stage debut at the tender age of ten. Coming from four generations of professional music makers, with a Russian maestro for a father and five musical siblings around him at home; Vladimir Jablokov is steeped in the classical tradition almost as old as the Carpathian Mountains of his motherland. 

His debut album will be released in September, and this exciting evening will showcase his new music with some special guests on the night.  With a burgeoning reputation, Vladimir has played some of Ireland’s most prestigious venues; including The Mansion House, The Gaiety Theatre, Marlay Park, Cork Opera House, Limerick UCH and, at the behest of President McAleese; to an audience in Aras an Uachtarain.
