The Parade assembles in Clarinda Park at 4.45pm and sets off at 5.15pm to make its way along Georges St to St Michael’s Church where carol singers from The Dominican Secondary School will entertain the waiting crowds.
The parade will feature special appearances by giant costumed characters and other entertainers including the Stedfast Brass Band and many other local groups. Santa himself will be taking time out of his busy schedule to make a special appearance.
The procession through the streets will feature St. Joseph’s School, a group from St. Nicholas Montessori School, Harold Boys School, The Red Rosettes from Ballybrack, Loughlinstown Girl Guides, Ashlawn Park After School Project, Holyhead Park School, Holyhead Round Table, Dun Laoghaire Lions, Dun Laoghaire Boy Scouts, D.L. The Parade ends at the Dun Laoghaire Ferry Plaza at approx. 6.00pm.
The lights on the magnificent Christmas tree will be switched on, while simultaneously all the Christmas lights in the town & harbour will come on as fireworks light up the sky to officially announce the beginning of Christmas in Dun Laoghaire.
