On Tuesday 2nd June 2009, the Veteran and Vintage Car Club and the Royal Irish Automobile Club organised ‘Picnic in the Park 2009’ in Marlay Demesne. 

It was a great success with approximately 100 Classic, Veteran and Vintage cars turning up.  It was a wonderful sunny afternoon and picnickers and spectators were entertained by The Mellowchords, a barbershop octet during the afternoon.

The event raised money for the Children’s Sunshine Home.
